Generative Design Process explored material behavior, material systems, and self-organizations to create responsive and dynamic systems. Theory of generative design process and ideas of patterns, fractal geometry and cellular automata were introduced and experimented upon.
The studio projects aimed at designing a system to achieve multiple scenarios as output which can be tested to varied conditions, like altering environments, context or even changing program.
Line in a volume was the chosen module, and physical experiments were conducted to map its growth under the process of branching, leading to a generative pattern and its application as interior space-maker.

Visual research was encouraged by evolving an individual aptitude towards art and a personal aesthetic sense of understanding art. A general overview of history of art and art forms, terminology and techniques and writing skills were developed as a part of the coursework. Avenues for visual research included visits to art galleries, museums and dialogues with artists and their works. Critical exposure was provided to the prevalent philosophers of each era, their thoughts and their impact on the value of art produced and perceived.

This research aims to explore meaning formation with the use of sequence as a metaphorical symbol in three buildings of master architect Charles Correa. The study of different sequential patterns included here vary in the visual narratives organised around them and take the participant on an evocative journey of the ‘pradakshina’ amidst the sequence of spaces and the play of symbols around them.
